What's newMarianna successfully defended her PhD Thesis by the title "SHAPE the Wireless Traffic in the Home Network", on July 11, 2011, in front of a jury composed of Professor Ramesh Govindan (University of Southern California), Professor Andrzej Duda (Grenoble INP-Ensimag), Professor Claudio Casetti (Politecnico di Torino), Professor Matthieu Latapy (LIP6 UPMC), Professor Serge Fdida (LIP6 UPMC), and Dr. Martin May (Technicolor). Marianna works on characterizing and understanding the
behavior of wireless links. She is recently focusing on
Wireless Home Networking. Her goal is to enable multimedia
traffic on 802.11-based home networks, by the introduction
of smart APs, requiring no modifications to existing end

Short Bio
Marianna was born in Pinerolo, nearby Torino (Italy),
in 1983. She studied Computer
Science Engineering at Politecnico
di Torino,
obtaining her BSc in Sept 2005 and MSc in Feb 2008, graduating cum
laude. As part of her Master studies she spent one year at Eurecom,
in Sophia Antipolis (France), where she obtained (Sept 2007) a Master
Recherche in Network and Distribuited System (“Sciences et technologies
de l'information et de la communication, Réseaux et systèmes
